What is the minimum order?
The minimum order is 1 yard.
How colorfast are ColorWorks™ fabrics?
ColorWorks™ are among the highest quality prints available on the market today, offering superior resistance to fading, crocking, or bleeding. With high UV fastness, ColorWorks™ prints are perfect for home décor applications.
Is the printing process ecologically responsible?
ColorWorks™ is printed using the state-of-the-art printing technology that is extremely low waste and energy efficient. Our processes generate ZERO waste water and many of our base fabrics are organic.
Is it possible to re-color any exclusive pattern in the RM COCO fabric collection that is not a pattern in the ColorWorks brand?
Usually, the answer is no. Patterns in the ColorWorks brand are the only patterns to which we own the copyright and can produce or alter. RM COCO has the distribution rights for all other exclusive patterns in our line, but we do not own the copyright to these patterns, and cannot reproduce them.
If I send you artwork, do I retain the copyright?
Yes, if you send us print-ready art you will retain the copyright on that design and RM COCO will only print the design for you.
If I send you an idea, photo, or fabric idea, who retains the copyright?
If you are not sending print-ready art and RM COCO has to put design time into the design to make it ready to print RM COCO retains the design file.
How do I choose which base fabric to have a color palette printed on?
We recommend that you purchase a color palette for each base fabric that you plan to use to assure accurate color matching. Colors will vary from a cotton fabric to a silk or velvet.
Can I get a memo on a different base fabric?
Our ColorWorks memos are only available on the one base fabric that we have selected for that specific pattern. However, you have the option to order a one yard strike off for any of our prints on any base fabric.
Are all of the ColorWorks base fabrics suitable for upholstery use?
While all of our base fabrics are suitable for drapery and accessories we only recommend base fabrics Sailaway, Organic Cotton Sateen, and Portside for upholstery applications.
How long does it take to print?
Not long! Your custom printed fabric will typically ship within 7-10 business days of receiving final artwork. However, there are several factors that will determine when your order is printed such as timing of order submission, stock level of base fabric, total yardage, print room schedule, scheduled printer maintenance and holidays/weather.
Are ColorWorks fabrics child safe?
Yes. Our OEKO-Tex 100 Standards and GOTS certified inks allow us to boast a child safe experience for our customers with our 100% non-hazardous and toxin-free direct print process.
Is it possible to re-color any pattern in the ColorWorks brand?
Yes, designs that require assistance from our design studio will have a design fee associated with this process, but all patterns may be recolored. The design fee is determined by the complexity of the design and amount of color changes. If you do not need assistance, simply use our online re-color tool and order your fabric!
Is it possible to reproduce an out-of-stock or discontinued pattern from RM COCO or another print source?
We cannot copy any design where we do not own the copyright or have written permission from the copyright holder to print. We CAN create a NEW design with a similar feel and colorway. Out-of-stock and discontinued patterns are bound by copyright law, and cannot be reproduced without written permission from the original copyright holder.
What are Hex numbers on the ColorWorks Palette?
Every color has a formula that is needed to reproduce that specific color. A HEX number is a combination of six letters and numbers that represent the formula needed to create a specific color.
What is recommended before ordering yardage of ColorWorks fabrics?
We highly recommend that on any color, design or base fabric change you plan to make that you order a one-yard approval sample before placing your final yardage order. Computer monitors and color printers vary greatly. You cannot be assured what you see on a computer screen, or what prints on a color printer is exactly what will print on fabric.
Can ColorWorks fabrics be treated for performance or FR needs?
All of our ColorWorks fabrics can be treated for specific needs for an additional charge. We offer GreenShield performance finish, acrylic backing, NFPA 260 and NFPA 701 to name a few.
Can I print a solid color?
Yes! We can print any solid color on any of our base fabrics. It is a great option when you can’t seem to find the right solid for a project. Use our color palette to get a perfect color match and simply enter your chosen HEX code into our easy to use recolor tool.
Can I print multiple test colors?
Yes! If you are trying to get a perfect color match, use our swatch color sampler. Through our recolor tool, you can select 6 different colors that we will print on a yard of your selected base fabric so you can be sure you are getting the exact color you are looking for!
